SCOTT WHEELER
Senior Vice President, Network Development
With over twenty years in the U.S. cable television industry, Scott Wheeler serves as senior vice president of network development for International Networks. He is responsible for new business development, company operations, and overseeing the complete suite of channels that offer specific in-language programming from a variety of international sources. These include Asian, European and Middle Eastern channels distributed to operators in the U.S. In addition, Wheeler led the team that developed and launched two subscription video on demand services, Bollywood Hits on Demand and Filipino On Demand.
Prior to International Networks, Wheeler served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Jones Education Company (JEC), which operated Knowledge TV, JEC College Connection, JEC Knowledge Store, and JEC Knowledge On-Line. Wheeler had been with the Jones companies since 1984, first managing internal auditing, then serving as General Manager of Jones Intercable’s Walnut Valley, California cable television system and finally serving as Assistant to the President at Jones Intercable.
Wheeler was also an auditor for Oppenheimer Asset Management Corporation and for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Company.
Wheeler received his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Wyoming and a masters in telecommunications from the University of Denver.
MIKE SCOTT
Vice President, Affiliate Sales & Marketing
Mike Scott is responsible for all national affiliate relations for International Networks. This involves the distribution and field marketing of the company’s in-language and multi-ethnic channels serving Asian, European and Middle Eastern cable television subscribers.
Since joining International Networks in 1997, Scott has been active in industry organizations, including the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), the Southern California Cable Television Association (SSCTA) and Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT).
Prior to International Networks, Scott worked for Fuji Film and was in charge of film, television and commercial sales for the Motion Picture Film Group. This involved sales and distribution of motion picture film to movie studios and production houses, including Warner Bros, Spelling Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Columbia Tri-Star and NBC Productions.
Scott has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
